Description of role:
A remote based insurance inspector to perform field inspections of commercial residential properties (or personal residential dwellings if required) on behalf of
insurance company. You will utilize your knowledge of insurance, construction, National Standard Residential Building Contractors, Florida Building Codes, real estate, digital photography and related technologies (e.g. drones) to document hazards and conditions on various residential properties as designated by the company. And if necessary make appropriate risk management recommendations. You are experienced in calculating and providing a detailed inspection and/or scope of loss. In addition, you have experience examining claim forms, policies and endorsements. You’ve investigated and settled claims,
focused on controlling claim cost (including recognizing subrogation opportunities) and using the latest technology available. Familiar with setting loss reserve and federal and state regulations regarding adjuster practices, procedures and protocols.
The duties of a field inspector vary by the type of inspection, but generally include driving to a location, performing a visual inspection, taking photos, video, complete risk/cost analysis, and writing a report. Depending on location, field inspector can perform property mitigation,preservation. Depending upon location, recognizing winterization duties and issues, including (if required) changing locks, boarding windows, draining water heaters, snow removal and shutting off the water supply to a building or house.
If necessary, field inspectors can verify the address of a commercial or residential property, perform inspections after a claim has been filed and even contact a debtor after normal channels of communication are unanswered.

- College Degree (preferred)
- High School Diploma (or equivalency)
- General Contractor’s License (or 10 years construction work experience) • 620 All Lines Adjuster license (preferred)
- Digital photo/video camera operation
- Licensed Drone Operator (preferred)
- Drone technology – if not experienced ability to learn
- Xactanalysis
- MSB
- Water Mitigation Certification
- Restoration Mitigation Certification
- Insurance inspection or field survey experience is helpful
- Demonstrated analytical ability and strong decision making skills that will enable providing excellent:
- Collecting, analyzing and validating
- Implementing plans for best practices for multi-tasking skills and experience of general contractor and independent adjuster
- Previous experience in a role working with the public
- Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance knowledge/experience is strongly preferred
- Previous work experience in a similar job function or with similar processes is very strongly preferred
- Basic to Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills to include email, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Word skills to include: formatting, Tables, Table of Contents, Headers, Footers and Review capabilities
- Excel skill capabilities to include: data entry and formatting
- Exposure to Excel formulas and Pivot table creation/manipulation a plus
- Superior interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and clients.
- Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and selling skills are a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to include phone conversation and email communication

- Large loss daily claim inspections
- Large loss catastrophe claim inspections
- Large loss catastrophe claim re-open inspections
- Complex loss inspections
- Confirmation of work completed after claim payout inspections
- Inspection of top 25 TIV accounts (including full interior of every unit)
- Inspection of designated northeast properties –if required
- Other responsibilities that may be assigned by the company
Goal
- Comprehensive review of all designated CRES policy premises
- Comprehensive review of all major CRES policy systems
- Comprehensive review and confirmation of exact construction details
- Provide report to assist in developing underwriting file
- Provide report to supplement underwriting file
