JOB PURPOSE:

The IT Senior Business Analyst will play a significant role to help drive our growth and success. The IT Senior Business Analyst, BI Specialist will manage requirements related to one or more of our enterprise data platforms, data governance, BI and reporting, and master data management initiatives. Primary responsibilities include understanding and collaborating with our stakeholders on BI and analytics requirements and guiding the technical teams to meet these needs, in addition to core business analyst responsibilities.

TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP

Core Business Analyst Responsibilities

• Drive identification of requirements across business units and identify substandard system processes through analysis and evaluation
• Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, collaborate on developing forward-thinking systems prototypes and business processes that promote increased efficiency and productivity in the Enterprise
• Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of projects
• Manage requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation processes to capture business and end user needs. Prioritize needs within and across projects based on business impact
• Support business case creation and work to create documentation required to get new projects and enhancements approved through Project Management Office (PMO)
• Communicate solution trade-offs to business partners to frame and influence project decisions
• Engage delivery teams to communicate solution vision and priorities
• Promote established standards and consistency
• Promote usability standards and design solutions with a high-quality, effortless UX
• Proactively monitor industry, functional, and technology trends to guide business partners on emerging opportunities
• Assess the risks of solution options and develop plans to mitigate them
• Support enterprise BI strategy and organizational change management
• Define, set up, and execute test cases to validate that the solution meets Business requirements
• Provide consultative support and advice on technology projects led by business partners
• Coach employees to make use of technology and information

Specialized BI and Analytics Responsibilities

• Work with business partners to understand BI reporting and analytical requirements
• Identify the source of data and establish mapping document
• Provide technical support on ad-hoc queries on usage of BI application
• Assist users on building ad-hoc reports and analysis
• Envision future use cases for reporting and analytical solutions
• Identify new opportunities to leverage data, integrate and enhance business value
• Coordinate with data owners to ensure data accessibility and quality

• Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of leadership within the organization
• Provide timely updates so that progress against each individual incident can be updated as required
• Write and review high quality technical documentation

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
• 7 years of proven experience in an analytics and systems development capacity
• Proficiency with SQL and BI platforms like Congos, Tableau, Oracle BI, and WebFOCUS
• Proficiency with Agile methodology
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence is a must.
• Strong understanding of Data warehouse concepts
• Ability to guide solution design to meet business needs
• Proficiency in technology management
• Deep understanding of BI platforms
• Analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of business context and objectives
• Ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language
• Influencing skills and demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes
• Experience with Business Analysis
• Prefer experience in other IT roles or functions such as quality assurance/testing, development, enterprise architecture, or project management
• Experience working on a project using Agile or iterative methods
• Scrum master certification preferred
• Prefer travel industry experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
