This position is with Hexagon’s Mining division, a global technology leader, and solution provider for surface and underground mine challenges, with proven technologies for planning, operations, and safety.
Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to play a vital role in the successful development, release, and support of innovative products within the company. By actively participating in the Product Hexagon Innovation Process (HIP), the incumbent ensures that both the company's interests and the end user's needs are effectively represented, leading to the release of commercially sustainable products. This involves coordinating field trials, facilitating knowledge transfer, conducting internal training, and providing pre-sales support and technical input to various stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to develop products that prioritize customer satisfaction and ease of deployment, while also contributing to competitor analysis and maintaining comprehensive product documentation. Overall, this position plays a crucial role in driving product excellence, customer success, and business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Ensure successful product transition from development to deployment.
- To participate in the Product Hexagon Innovation Process (HIP) to ensure the interests of the Company and end user are represented ensuring a pragmatic, viable product is released in a commercially sustainable manner.
- To plan, coordinate, conduct and report upon the field trial of the Product as part of the Product Release Process transitioning products from Development teams to a Selling/Service and Support Unit
- Ensure products are developed for customer satisfaction and ease of deployment in mind
- To plan, coordinate, conduct and report upon the transfer of product knowledge to the product business unit.
- Conduct internal training on new products for internal technical staff (Service and Support)
- To provide pre-sales support and technical input for product development, and product training to internal stakeholders (i.e. Sales, Project Engineering, Training and Customer Care)
- To develop functional requirement specifications for products
- To assist with competitor analysis activities
- Standardize product deployment and support sales with technical clarifications
- Facilitate best practices with regional service teams and transfer knowledge
- Audit regional practices and contribute to product documentation
- Maintain customer relationships and support sales and marketing events
- Collaborate on documentation structure, issue logging, and process development
- Provide deployment support during high local workload periods
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes within the Mining team
- Actively participate in cross training and knowledge transfer initiatives across functional teams
- Adheres to Hexagon values and compliance with Hexagon Health and Safety policies and procedures
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Education/Credentials:
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Communications), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal training qualifications are desirable, but not essential
Experience / Skills / Attributes:
- Experience in the Mining industry, particularly knowledge of Open Pit mining processes would be advantageous
- Strong technical skills and the ability to rapidly grasp customers' requirements and technical solutions
- Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and experience on new technologies in order to use the knowledge to provide customer support and training
- Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate product information and technical concepts effectively to a non-technical audience
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- High motivation level, pro-active, flexible team player, customer focused
- Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and experience using CRM and Product Development tools (e.g. Salesforce, Confluence, Jira) is desirable
- Ability to work independently and yet be accountable.
- Strong sense of urgency, responsibility, and accountability
- Understands the product development and management lifecycle.
Travel:
- Up to 30% travel required
Language:
- Fluent English (written and verbal) is a prerequisite. Additional languages (e.g., Portuguese or Spanish) would be highly regarded.
Salary : $80,000 - $101,000
