Basic Function
Promotes and uses safe work practices ensuring effective production to meet daily plant demands, demonstrating commitment to team goals, objectives, and success and understanding and compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures under the Plant Manager direct supervision.
Job Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
- Oversees all aspects of facility production/manufacturing schedules while meeting market demands
- Works directly with plant manager on scheduling employees necessary to meet all material receipts, shipments, and manufacturing demands
- Oversees shipping and delivery schedules, receipt handling via rail, truck, barge, and coordinating optimization of these activities with manufacturing schedules and ensures applicable documentation is in place (i.e. BOL, MSDS, etc.)
- Ensures all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with HF Sinclair & EH&S procedures and guidelines
- Oversees coordination of maintenance, inventories, formulations and schedules to eliminate production problems that create waste in product and opportunity cost
- Works with Facility Manager to review and understand the facility TOE and related P & L statements and conducts daily production/quality/EH&S meetings to establish a safety and environment conscious, honest, team-oriented, continuously improving culture in the facility
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of two years experience in plant operations, safety and, production scheduling is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Employee development is preferred.
Education Level
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Skills
Ability to lead and direct the work of others. Basic Word, spreadsheet, and data entry skills. Spill prevention, injury management, and incident investigation, familiar with OSHA regulations and ability to conduct all EH&S training. Completed supervisory and leadership training or equivalent. This job will be in the line of progression for the Assistant/Plant Manager. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Responsible for the supervision of a team of employees.
Work Conditions
Office based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions. Subject to flexible work schedule.
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, climbing up to 48ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company standard insurance, valid state drivers license and proof of insurance required perceiving color differences, and wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted). Job conditions may require standing and walking.
