What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Shop Supervisor position at Hi-Tech Compressor & Pump Products, Inc.?
Are you a motivated, organized, results-driven supervisor with a background in machining? Do you have the drive to see tasks through completion with a focus on quality and urgency?
If you’re the candidate we’re looking for, you’ll be using your experience and knowledge on the shop floor, solving problems, and leading a team of 12 machinists and technicians.
Your duties will include:
● Starting each day opening the shop and prepared with a plan of clear instructions delegated to the shop team.
● Ordering Shop materials and supplies and accountable for inventory
● Follow our current processes and procedures and implement ways to continuously improve communication and efficiency.
● Understand the jobs and procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner and with attention to quality and detail.
● Assure the required parts and materials are on hand for upcoming jobs and the requisite equipment is available.
● Managing jobs to achieve weekly and monthly shipping goals and customer deadlines while adapting to changes in the schedule arising from emergency jobs that sometimes occur
● Managing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to keep all machines up and running
● Completion of paperwork and job packets such as:
○ Time riders
○ Quality Control Documents
● Continuously improving procedures and safety such as:
○ 6S
○ Cross Training personnel
○ Documenting procedures and pinpointing bottlenecks
● Anticipating and solving problems before they arise.

Our 22,000 sq. ft. facility located in Tullytown, Pa and is equipped with a wide range of machines including manual lathes, CNC mills and lathes, horizontal and vertical milling and boring machines, a thermal-spray cell and a full QC metrology lab.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
