General Description:

The Integrated Solutions Consultant is responsible for providing consulting services, expertise, and training for the sale and service of solutions enabled by John Deere’s Precision Ag Strategy and those defined by the customer in the use of technology and applications. The Integrated Solutions Consultant leads the effort to learn, sell, install, and train/demonstrate new technology to Hiawatha Implement’s employees and customers.

The Integrated Solutions Consultant role is best suited for an individual inclined to be persuasive, self-confident, independent, and a poised communicator with a strong sense of urgency. They should be comfortable and confident in dealing with, working with, and getting things accomplished through others. Someone that enjoys social situations where they can be expressive, outspoken and communicate with enthusiasm and purpose to influence others. They should have an aggressive uninhibited “selling” style and be able to establish relationships quickly and be skillful at convincing others to pursue their ideas. This role requires concern for the end results using guidelines, policies, and rules with a high degree of freedom

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Consistently promoting, supporting, working, and acting in a way exemplifying Hiawatha Implements, vision, mission, and values
  • Leading the organization in the area of John Deere Precision Ag Solutions and pioneers the adoption of new technology and product offerings
  • Developing and executing the plan to ensure ongoing precision ag mainstreaming across all dealership departments
  • Working with all dealership departments to sell and support Precision Ag Solutions
  • Providing primary support in responding to inquiries and issues resulting from new technology breakdowns and user error
  • Conducting customer visits and providing updates, installations, user training, troubleshooting, setting up data files, activating new technology packages/subscriptions, establishing field boundaries, yield levels and establishing Customer Operation Center accounts for all precision ag and advanced precision farming products
  • Understanding the customers business to enable solutions-based business consulting services that optimize equipment performance/productivity and improve operating efficiencies
  • Actively managing productive customer interactions through face to face, phone, email, and texting
  • Quickly diagnosing and resolving problems through remote and physical support as available
  • Training other departments and customers on John Deere Operation Center, John Deere Precision Ag solutions
  • Providing recommendations of stocking/inventory requirements, and ordering option codes
  • Operating as a self-starter with tremendous independence, sense of urgency, and responsibility for day-to-day activities that delivers value to internal and external customers

Supervisory Duties:

This position has no formal or informal supervisor responsibilities

  • Researching, adapting, and implementing ideas and best practices from internal and external sources on new ag technologies (ex-autonomous tractor, EV, precision ag technology)
  • Recognizing and recommending opportunities for improvement in policies and procedures as necessary and oversee implementation of changes
  • Building and maintaining productive and positive rapport with Leadership, Department Managers, and Individual Contributors
  • Communicating effectively in both written and verbal form with customers and other Hiawatha Implement employees
  • Managing time and resources effectively
  • Maintaining composure while balancing multiple demands and priorities during high workload and chaotic times
  • Applying general financial, mathematical, and electrical systems concepts
  • Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables
  • Leveraging applicable dealer business systems, service software, Microsoft Office, of electrical and wireless communication systems, and John Deere provided systems (Expert Connect, JD Link/Operations Center, Dealer Path, Signal, email, Equip, Texting platform, Service and Parts Advisor, CCMS, Handle)
  • Effectively using standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions in communications with Hiawatha Implement employees, John Deere, and Customers

Education/Certifications:

Required

  • Associates degree in Business, Agriculture, Precision Ag. or equivalent experience

Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Mechanical Technician knowledge helpful

Experience:

  • One year of experience in an agriculture-related role is desired not required
  • Experience working in Service and Parts Department operations is desired not required
  • Dealership sales, service, training, or other related work experience is preferred
  • Software design and systems functionality
  • Equipment operation
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen will be required prior to the start of employment.

Employees in this position will find growth in learning a variety of John Deere computer system applications, advanced new Ag technology, service processes, dealer operations, time/activity prioritization, teaching, presentation skills, and customer relationship management. Successful and highly motivated employees in this role may become better prepared for future positions such as Equipment/Turf Sales or CDI/Technical Communicator.

  • Working in confined space with manual dexterity required to complete work tasks through safe and proper operation of power and hand tools and motor vehicles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on unpaved terrain, reach with arms and hands, have good manual dexterity, use hands and fingers to attach equipment and operate keyboards, hear alarms/telephones and converse in a normal speaking voice
  • Strenuous physical work involving heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 15 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Moving, positioning, and carrying loads of up to 15 pounds upstairs and loading on various high surfaces
  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time while operating a motor vehicle
  • May involve climbing ladders, stairs, steps, traversing catwalk grating, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling on a frequent basis
