What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Teacher - Chemistry/Physics - 1.0 FTE position at High School District 214?
- Experience teaching in a Dual Language setting strongly preferred.
- State of Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with a Senior HS endorsement in chemistry and physics.
- The applicant must be an experienced, outstanding educator and be willing to teach all levels of science, including Skills and/or LEP (Limited English Proficiency).
- Must have a strong background in science (and if applicable, math) instruction and standards driven curriculum.
- Must be able and willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Must work effectively within our Professional Learning Team model, which means working with teams of teachers to develop creative instructional strategies and resources, based on best practices, which enable our students to exceed state goals and standards.
- It is an expectation that the teacher will utilize research-based instructional strategies for increasing student achievement and strive to become a distinguished educator.
- Must be well-versed in a wide variety of assessment practices that maximize student learning (formative, summative, selected response, extended written response, performance based.)
- Demonstrate a wide variety of instructional methods & practices to meet individual student needs.
- Provide opportunities for students to achieve daily objectives.
- Communicate with students and parents regarding student progress.
- Establish and maintain a professional growth plan.
- Possess and continue to develop technology skills.
