What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN (Oncology) position at Highland Clinic?
Responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
Essential Duties:
1. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards in oncology infusion room.
2. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials; ensures cleanliness.
3. Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
4. Ensures appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
5. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
6. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
7. Other duties as assigned by physician or supervisor.
Requirements:
1. RN degree/certification with a minimum of one year professional experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
2. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care.
3. Skill in preparing and maintaining records.
4. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
