Job Summary:
Capable of installing all measures according to installation standards provided by the program manager. Spends 90% of time in the field supervising the assigned weatherization crews as they install approved energy efficiency measures and assist with taking on scheduled jobs, as needed. Ensures quality and program requirements are met set by PG&E program standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must complete Weatherization Specialist Training and receive WS badges from the utility company.
- Trains new hires by taking on scheduled jobs and working side-by-side with them to teach and complete assignment.
- Manages program requirements and compliance of company contract.
- Assists in the development and implementation of program goals, policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Assists with achieving or exceeding contractual outcomes.
- Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of Weatherization Specialist.
- Reviews work in progress and complete work to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Motivates staff to meet and exceed daily production goals and ensures adherence to the schedule.
- Conducts staff meetings and attends required contractual meetings.
- Responsible for the continuous staff training on program policies and procedures.
- Oversees the accurate processing of all documentation as required or needed.
- Schedules audits, inspections, education, call backs, trainings, building maintenance, and related documents.
- Ensures company policies, procedures and protocols are followed.
- Selects, supervises, trains, motivates, and evaluates the work of staff, and recommends appropriate disciplinary action as required.
- Reviews and approves timesheets.
- Assist in preparing and tracking Department’s budget.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations and OSHA protocols.
- Responsible for all vehicle safety and legal requirements for driving on California roadways. (Including vehicle maintenance schedule and cleanliness policies).
- Ensure that Safety meetings and training are conducted in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Required to attend and partake in ongoing Management Training.
- Required to conduct quality Inspections of work performed by crews, to ensure job passes QA team final inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Driver’s License and a clean DMV record.
- NGAT Certificate - preferred
- 5 years’ experience in the weatherization, energy conservation, or construction industry.
- Proven experience in supervising, managing, and training staff.
- Experience implementing and monitoring a business plan.
- Strong customer services skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and identify, document and report information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of individuals to meet company set goals and expectations.
- Detail orientated and organized.
- Must be computer literate, experienced with Outlook and Microsoft Office Products.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various tools and equipment. Must be able to operate a pallet jack and forklift. Frequently must use wrists, fingers, and hand to enter data into computer system. Must be able to frequently lift to 50 pounds.
