What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst I position at Highpoint Community Bank?

Summary:  Works closely with entire commercial lending staff. Supports the commercial lending function by analyzing financial information and preparing loan presentations to be reviewed for loan approvals. 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

New Loan Requests:

  • Reviews incoming financial statements for completeness.
  • Spreads financial statements.
  • Completes global cash flow, collateral analysis, and risk rating.
  • Analyzes financial statements and completes written financial statement analysis.

Renewals:

  • 60 days prior to maturity reviews loan files, and then contacts loan officers with list of financial information needed. 
  • 45 days prior to maturity ensures all necessary financial information has been obtained and begins the loan renewal process by spreading financial statements.
    1. Completes global cash flow, collateral analysis, and risk rating.
    2. Analyzes financial statements and completes written financial statement analysis.

Internal Loan Review and Quality Control Checks:

  • Prepares and mails financial statement tracking letter to commercial loan customers.
  • Tracks and reviews incoming financial statements for completeness. 
  • Spread financials statements.
  • Completes global cash flow, collateral analysis, and risk rating.
  • Analyzes financial statements and completes written financial statement analysis.
  • Detects potential problem loans and credit quality deterioration at early stages.
  • Interacts with commercial loan officers to obtain recent developments and/or to address any significant changes in the customers’ financials.

Other:

  • Prepares various month-end reports.
  • Scans financial statements and loan review into customers’ digital files.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience. 1 to 2 years of credit analyst experience preferred. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently is essential. Able to manage multiple tasks. Able to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job. Excellent service orientation and teamwork consistency. Able to follow policies and procedures.
