Summary
The Fabricator is responsible for moving production forward by preparing materials for the Welding department. This includes ensuring that all pieces are included for the given product, maintaining small parts, and providing stock to Assembly department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
- Select the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on the machine.
- Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.
- Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repair within expertise.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety or work area.
- Comply with application safety standards and regulations..
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Vocational or technical school training and apprenticeship or previous experience preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
- Ability to read blueprints and plans.
- Excellent mechanical, time management, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
