Job Description
Responsible for the success of the product by maximizing the output of the development team within a scrum framework. Responsible for ordering backlog, clearly expressing the product backlog items, ordering the items to best achieve goals and optimize the value of the work the team performs. Lead collaboration, facilitate sprint activities, and create and communicate requirements artifacts that translate business needs into executable requirements. Work closely with business stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize, and communicate needs to ensure full understanding of project scope, objectives, and requirements. Develop and adapt the product vision, writing new user stories, and specify acceptance of each user story. Bring members of the User Community together to share knowledge, identify enhancements, manage toolset or training improvements, discuss issues, and drive toward process standardization. Ensure the health and quality of specific processes and resulting products across the value stream.
Newport News Shipbuilding, division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII-NNS) is seeking an application administration Delivery Owner that has experience in Agile as well as working across many different applications. We are looking for a System Application Analyst who is interested in working across two teams that support the majority of the applications within the company. These two teams of analyst support applications across Newport News Shipbuilding including, HR, Engineering, Planning, Finance, and Manufacturing. We are the sole designer and builder of U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy Submarines.

Collaborates with the Product Team: Continually matures the story backlog and ensures the delivery team does not get blocked or surprised and works closely with the Delivery Team to ensure user stories are refined and available for sprint planning.

The Delivery Owner is the voice of the Portfolio Owner and Product Owner within the Delivery Team to ensure there is shared understanding of the problem being solved by the Epic and the Solution described in the Feature
Activities and Interactions:
Attend relevant Planning meetings
Support Delivery Team with any functional questions during story development
Ensures knowledge and experiences of the Delivery Team are communicated to the Product and Portfolio Teams
Advise for any RIDAs (Risks, Impediments, Dependencies, and Assumptions)
Deliverables:
Stories that are crafted with an understanding of the solution
What Success looks like:
The user stories are under the highest priory Epics and Features being sequenced for upcoming sprints
Highest priority user stories are ready to be committed by the team
Three to five sprints worth of ready backlog are prioritized for the team to work.

Basic Qualifications
0 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in agile software development or SAFe
- Demonstrated performance under high pressure situations
- Demonstrated written/oral communication and teaming skills
- Ability to execute with minimal management oversight
- Technical leadership charisma to build trust with internal and external team members
- Understanding of the System Application Analyst role
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment experience
