Hiker Trailers, a premier manufacturer of high-quality camping trailers, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Master Technician to join our team in Columbus, IN. As a Master Technician at Hiker Trailers, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and timely production of our trailers. You will have the opportunity to learn our trailer building processes, contribute to meeting production goals, and uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and master our trailer building processes from start to finish, including construction, wiring, and assembly, and quality control.
  • Assist in meeting monthly production goals by working efficiently and effectively in various areas of trailer manufacturing.
  • Identify quality issues and defects during the production process, and take proactive measures to address and rectify them.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for improving overall product quality and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and training to other team members on best practices for avoiding quality mistakes and ensuring consistent craftsmanship.
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and modifications to trailers as needed, both during production and after they have been sold.
  • Utilize your expertise in 12v wiring and carpentry to ensure electrical systems and interior components are installed correctly and function properly.
  • Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment, preferably in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in 12v wiring and carpentry is essential; welding experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • This is a Master level position and requires critical thinking, problem solving, and diagnosis.
  • This individual should also be a self-starter and be able to work on complex issues with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in trailer manufacturing or related industries.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly used in trailer construction.
  • Certification or training in electrical systems, carpentry, RV or automobile systems.
  • Eagerness to contribute to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
  • Passion for outdoor adventure and recreational activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
