The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Accounting Manager to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing technical accounting support on applicable standards, including application of ASC 606, 340, and 842.
- Responsible for researching relevant technical accounting topics and documenting results in position papers to be shared with management, external auditors, and regulators.
- Keep current on existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting principles, assessing their applicability to the Company, and proactively advising relevant individuals.
- Interact with external auditors on technical accounting matters and assist in the successful completion of the year-end financial statement audit.
- Assist in developing/ formally documenting internal control procedures, and ensure they are maintained for all relevant process areas.
- Maintain balance sheet and income statement analytics to include a flux analysis monthly.
- Assist in month, quarter, and year end close process.
- Execute purchase price allocations according to business combinations standards (ASC 805)
- Provide support to controllership team on special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with public accounting experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and technical financial reporting
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated project management skills, ability to prioritize among multiple deliverables.
