ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Direct the development, recording, analysis and reporting of general accounting data to provide accurate and timely financial information to the Controller, managing results to achieved planned (or better) performance with acceptable documentation of significant variations.
DIMENSIONS:
Employees: Indirectly supervises other employees within department and coordinates work to be completed.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires B.S. degree in business administration (or equivalent training and work related experience). Accounting or Finance major preferred in addition to a working knowledge and proficiency in use of computerized accounting systems. Two to four years of industrial accounting experience required.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Works closely with: Controller
Internal and external auditors
All functional managers
Other accounting department employees
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure that corporate and plant accounting policies and procedures are followed.
Manage the daily recording, analysis and reporting of general accounting results to meet plant and corporate requirements and goals.
Provide assistance to the plant manager and his staff (directly and/or together with the Controller) in financial analysis, interpretation and guidance.
Assist external/internal auditors to achieve their objectives.
Provide necessary assistance/support to Controller as required.
Maintain compliance with Company policies, safety rules, and good housekeeping standards.
Travel to other Company locations to conduct business.
Perform other duties and meet responsibilities associated with position, i.e., establish an environment in which fellow employees are motivated to higher performance levels, operate within the Company’s guidelines for Equal Employment Opportunity.
Manage the capital expenditures and tooling authorization programs/reporting.
Administer the expense budgetary program.
Assists in maintaining general ledger system.
Completes monthly journal entries and monthly account analysis. Provide assistance when necessary and be available to provide assistance when necessary to fellow accounting department employees.

Prepare monthly “Financial Statements” book.
