School to Career Specialist - Teen Parent Teacher | 1.0 FTE | Oak Street Campus / Date Needed: 08/22/2022 | 10 Month Calendar

GENERAL DUTIES
The Career Center is an educational and career planning resource center for students, staff and community. The center prepares and supports students in the use of demanding career-related technical and academic knowledge and skills needed for success in high school, college and in the highly skilled careers. The duties of the Career Center coordinator are aligned with the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program requirements, which are an integral component of the school’s total academic vision, committed to the education and development of each student.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
The ability to follow oral and written instructions
The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
The ability to work harmoniously with others
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District
Knowledge and understanding of career guidance concepts, standards, and practices
Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking two languages as determined by District screening tool)
Experience with Alternative Ed
Experience with Teen Parenting

Experience with College and Career Planning
