Medical Assistant
Seeking a high-energy medical assistant to work in a fast-paced growing dermatology office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate constant professionalism and the ability to multi-task while providing exceptional customer service to each patient during the check-in/check-out process.
Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal, proficiency with the MS Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records. Must be Certified or Registered. Your Essential Skills, Characteristics, and Experience
● Medical Assistant Training or equivalent medical office experience preferred
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite Excellent computer skills
● Exceptional communication interpersonal skills
● Self-starter, ability to take initiative, perform multiple duties accurately
● Ability to resolve problems and adapt to fluid situations in a fast-paced environment
● Knowledge of dermatology and/or experience with Modernizing Medicine EMR is a plus
Your Essential Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of quality, service, and confidentiality within the front office
- Greeting patients, escorting them into the exam room, and preparing them to be seen by the provider
- Interviewing and recording medical history in the electronic medical record
- Setting up for and assisting the provider during biopsies and injection procedures
- Scribing for provider during the clinical encounter, including documenting the physical examination findings, entering prescriptions, labs, and pathology orders
- Completing Prior Authorizations for prescriptions, if necessary
- Keeping a meticulous log of all specimens and labs that have been ordered, where they have been sent, and following up on un-resulted orders in a timely fashion
- Sterilizing all surgical instruments daily
- Keeping an inventory of all medical supplies and equipment and notifying management when orders are needed
- Cleaning the rooms after each patient and at the end of the day
- And other duties, as assigned● Open office as needed
