What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Server position at Hilton Garden Inn?
Your job as a Banquet Server is an important role because you create a wonderful experience for each banquet guest and ensure the highest level of service. If you have a "Passion for Perfection" and a "Passion for Service", this job is for You! The Banquet Server makes sure each guest has a great experience by meeting their every need. This position is responsible for the setup and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards.
As a Banquet Server, you will:
- Perform preparatory tasks and side-work duties to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
- Know how to read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function.
- Served guests according to the hotel’s standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents. Communicate to management, if necessary.
- Set all tables according to hotel standards.
- Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with all appropriate supplies necessary for food service functions.
- Clean-up banquet space after the completion of the function and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored and restocked properly.
- Prepare room according to BEO and the various meal functions.
- Know the menu items for each function served and able to give accurate descriptions.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Fundamental Requirements
Prior food service experience in a hotel, conference center, military hospitality services, or other comparable banquet service experience is desired. To be successful, you will need basic English communication skills. This job requires standing and walking 100% of the time, regularly bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, and the ability to perform repetitive motions for the entire shift. This job requires you to be able to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 30lbs. We administer pre-employment background checks.
