Job Overview
As an Engineer 2, your responsibilities are to maintain the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond and complete guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and circuit issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing supply, drain, sewer and storm drain systems.
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
- Perform plumbing work orders: unplug sink, valves, replace washer, gaskets, vacuum breakers, toilet seals.
- Complete all assigned preventative maintenance assignments.
- Conduct building rounds and take gauge readings; check for potential fire hazards, burnt out lights, and faulty equipment.
- Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
- Adhere to hotel safety standards.
- Perform all duties as required in support to fire alarm response team.
- Certification in pool operation preferred.
- Other duties as requested and assigned by management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 100-300 pounds.
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crawling
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with the other supervisors, hotel staff and guests.
- Speaking, reading and writing in English in order to document or record all tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive their instructions for the day and/or to read equipment repair manuals.
Education
High school or equivalent education preferred.
Safety Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.
Grooming
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/ or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.
Schedule
The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, overnights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required.
