Our Global HR team partners with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members.

What will I be doing? The Director, Corporate Learning will be responsible for consulting, leading, and managing the design and development of learning programs for our Hilton Corporate Functions including but not limited to: Human Resources, Legal and Compliance, Corporate Communications, Finance, Safety and Risk, and Hilton Supply Management. This role will also consult and partner with the Human Resources Consulting Group for the learning and development of the Corporate team members in these respective departments.

The person in this role will be the learning consultant for our Corporate Functions, working with clients and learning leadership to define their specific learning solutions and overall strategy based on their annual objectives by the target audience. This person will be responsible for providing the learning curriculum for those Corporate Functions including procurement, development, and launch of training through project management and continued consultation. This team member will be responsible for ensuring that all learning content is relevant, global, and aligned with the business objectives of the specific corporate function and Hilton, and is delivered in a cost-effective manner. Primary business partners in addition to internal Hilton University team members are the Senior Directors of Corporate Human Resources, Legal and Compliance, Corporate Communications, Safety and Risk, Finance, and Hilton Supply Management in addition to the Human Resources Consulting Group.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead the development of curricula, including annual compliance training, for each area of our Corporate functions ensuring that all learning programming is aligned with the business objectives for the departments, the Learning & Development strategic direction for the company, and with Hilton’s overarching objectives.
  • Manage multiple client groups and outcomes simultaneously, for a large matrixed organization, and set realistic expectations based on prioritization and resources.
  • Drive reporting for ensuring ethical business practices; ensure the timeliness and accuracy of reporting; able to quickly troubleshoot issues and propose solutions.
  • Partner closely with the expanded Talent/Learning teams, and the HRC team to ensure alignment in messaging and approach.
  • Evaluate project requirements and decide on internal and external resourcing, and vendor selection and ensure digitally forward solutions.
  • Scope and gain budget approvals for desired operating structure, determine timelines for resourcing and map the major phases of the project for review.
  • Build effective, collaborative relationships with team members and vendor partners.
  • Ensure positive peer interactions and mentorship, support the growth and development of team members, and provide leadership across the broader Learning team.
  • Engage with senior leaders across HR and the business, through storytelling which includes, regular updates on project and business requirements.
  • Provide excellent service delivery and use learning & development expertise to guide and influence decisions made on training developed for team members at all levels of the organization, both hotel based and corporate.
  • Provide direction, tools, and resources for client groups that are in alignment with the overall corporate learning, learning technology, and leadership/talent development strategies.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of professional experience
  • Five (5) years of work experience in a large-scale, global organization with skills in performance consulting, instructional design, and project management.
  • Three (3) years of management experience – either leading a team or demonstrating leadership on long-term project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • MS/MA Master’s Degree
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a Corporate Learning and Development organization which has included Compliance Learning responsibility
  • Five (5) years of experience leading a function within an organization with exceptional, demonstrated results.
  • Two (2) years of hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Experience working with a global, matrixed organization
