Responsibilities
As a Fund Accountant, HELIX with Hines, you will be responsible for the financial control and accounting of a number of property funds managed by the company. You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, planning, administration and preparation of the financial management and statutory accounts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing a portfolio to include the production of financial accounts
- Preparing monthly /quarterly/yearly management accounts.
- Calculating quarterly loan and covenants compliance.
- Preparing quarterly board reports.
- Liaising with 3rd party representatives and investors to ensure strict deadlines are met.
- Preparing VAT returns.
- Preparing rolling monthly, annual cashflow forecasts.
- Overseeing payment runs to suppliers and performing bank reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly expenditure analysis and handling CIS returns.
- Preparing quarterly rental income analysis.
- Preparing monthly debtors and creditors' analysis and bad debt provisions.
- Preparing and submitting audit files and acting as main contact for external annual audits.
- Preparing ad hoc analysis and variance reports.
- Act within the authority delegated by Helix Property.
- As requested, any other duties necessary in the interest of the smooth and efficient running of the portfolio and the business.
- Ensure all duties and responsibilities are executed to the industry’s ‘Best Practice Standards’ and best practice at all times.
- To be available out of ‘normal’ working hours and at short notice if the needs of the company or the portfolio so require.
- Has significant responsibilities in ensuring client accounts are accurate.
- Is proactive in building relationships and is responsive and helpful to all stakeholders
- Actively support and encourage personal and professional development of colleagues especially those in direct management
- Makes decisions with regards to the management of the portfolio for which they are responsible
- Is conscious of process and takes steps to protect interests of Helix Property Advisors
- Contributes to wider Helix projects
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Knowledge of RICS regulations and accounting regulations
- Proactive with excellent problem solving skills
- Good understanding of accounting
- Previous experience with accounting systems
- Previous experience with Excel
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good numerical skills including computer literacy (Excel, Word, MS Outlook)
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- High level of organisational and administrative skills
- Able to use initiative and take responsibility
- Ability to work under pressure
