Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Manage all financial functions of portfolio companies, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
- Operational Improvements: Work directly with leadership teams to drive operational efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve financial performance across multiple business functions, such as operations, IT, and HR.
- Analytical Leadership: Provide deep financial analysis to support decision-making, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Hands-On Role: Be willing to take on day-to-day tasks, even without a large team. You’ll be expected to lead by example, solving problems directly and ensuring operational and financial success.
- Process Optimization: Implement strategies to shorten reporting cycles, such as closing the books faster, and improve overall financial management.
- Investment Outcomes: Support the private equity firm’s investment strategies by maximizing returns on investment, managing cash flow, and ensuring strong financial health across all portfolio companies.
- Private Equity Experience: Experience working within private equity-backed businesses, particularly operationally intensive buyouts.
- Hands-On Approach: A self-starter with the ability to work without large support teams, tackling challenges head-on.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience overseeing finance as well as other business areas such as operations, IT, HR, and the ability to lead across multiple departments.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiencies, driving ROI, and delivering measurable financial improvements.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to dive into the numbers and provide actionable insights that drive value.
- Agility & Flexibility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a willingness to adapt and take on new challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10 years of relevant experience, including private equity or portfolio company experience.
- Proven experience with operational improvements and financial leadership in a hands-on environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering results in lean environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across teams.
