Responsibilities:
- Answers incoming radio, telephone, 911 and computer generated calls of both an emergent and non-emergent nature; ascertains the nature of each situation and appropriately determines which personnel and apparatus to dispatch according to jurisdiction and in accordance with standard operating procedure.
- Demonstrates an operational knowledge of the radio systems and their frequency allocations in use within the communications center. Understands the concept of communications interoperability when working with other agencies on specific incidents.
- Maintains incident and status histories accurately in the Computer Aided Dispatch system and other records, documenting agency response and location of personnel and apparatus.
- Operates various computer software programs in support of critical job functions such as; Open Fox CCIC/NCIC interface, GIS mapping, CODE RED Reverse 911 Community Notification, Eforce CAD, Microsoft Word & Excel, Lotus Notes, ReadyOps & FFRS paging, Equature Voice Retrieval, and others.
- Works with databases containing confidential information such as criminal histories, driver histories, wanted persons, Homeland Security alerts, police records, etc. Maintains security and confidentiality of information.
- Maintains current knowledge and understanding of all Communications Center policies and procedures to ensure uniform delivery of service to customers.
- Displays a working knowledge of county geography including reading and interpreting maps. Displays knowledge of GPS coordinates.
- Participates as a team member in promoting the overall welfare and esprit de corps of the communications center.
- Responsible for minor routine maintenance and daily cleaning of equipment and facility within the common areas of the communications center.
- Provides Emergency Medical Dispatch functions after receiving training and certification.
- Enters arrest warrants, BOLO information, etc. into state and national databases. Assists with management of such databases through quality assurance program.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,527.00 - $164,574.00 per year
