Hirschler, a multispecialty mid-sized law firm headquartered in Richmond, with local, regional and national practice areas, is seeking a Director of Operations with demonstrated executive skills in records management, facilities and office services and administrative operations.
The Director of Operations will provide direction, guidance and leadership regarding the general business operations of the firm and will provide direct guidance to the Records, Client Intake and Conflicts functions of the firm. The Director of Operations will work in close partnership with the Director of Facilities and Office Services regarding operational functions and the Director of Billing Services as needed for integration of client intake, conflicts and records maintenance functions.
The Director of Operations will report directly to the president of the firm and work under the direction of the Board of Directors. The Director of Operations also will work closely with the leaders of the firm’s Sections and Practice Groups and the other administrative departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business operations or related field with five years of practical experience in operations; law firm experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Records management and retention requirements (including paper and electronic documents).
- Knowledge of planning techniques (e.g., strategic, disaster and business process planning).
- Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of Excel; MS Office 365 preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in budgeting and financial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with people in various positions within the firm and with external clients.
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
- Strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- The ability to make well-informed, thoughtful, and timely decisions exhibiting sound and accurate judgment is critical for the successful candidate.
