Rental Office Assistant – Part-Time Position
Built upon the pillars of preservation, education, and advocacy, Historic Columbia is a local non-profit organization that preserves places and shares complex stories from the past that connect us in the present and inspire our future.
Historic Columbia is looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented individual to join our rental team. The Rental Office Assist manages first contact with potential clients. The position also works with the Rental Coordinator to coordinate the logistics of upcoming rentals to ensure every event is a memorable occasion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer initial rental inquiries (emanating from the website, email, phone, walk-ups, Eventective, and other sources). Confirm available dates, pricing, and basic information about Historic Columbia’s five rental properties.
- Schedule and lead tours for potential clients.
- Assist with prep for rentals, such as answering questions from clients, working with vendors, stocking supplies, and light cleaning.
- Work with the Rental Coordinator and the marketing team to assist with social media posts and other forms of promotion.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of the Rental Assistants (who are onsite during rental events).
- Work weekend and evening rentals when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to Historic Columbia’s Ethics and Human Resources policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have excellent communications skills, to interact with clients and vendors, as well as coordinate ion through email and phone with Rental Coordinator for the requirements and details for the specific events to which the assistant is assigned
- Prior event/wedding experience or customer service experience required.
- Willing to work on 3 to 4 Saturdays a month and occasional evenings.
JOB DETAILS: $22 per hour / part-time, 30 hours per week / on-site in Columbia, SC
