WORK STYLE REQUIREMENT: Will perform work remote, however will be required to be within a commutable distance from designated office.
WORK LOCATION: Hillsboro, OR (NCP) Office or Dallas, TX (DLS) Office
EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $100,747 - $138,527
This pay range is for the position's base salary only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.
POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the benefit programs are competitive to attract, retain and motivate our employees, and to help achieve HTA’s business goals and vision. The role reports to the Director, Compensation and Benefits.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages benefit program administration including Medical, HSA, FSA, Dental, Life, Disability, COBRA, 401(k), defined benefit plan.
Manages the annual open enrollment process by working closely with the Hitachi Benefits Pool and outside vendors. Manages benefit open enrollment meetings, assisting in developing presentation materials, and ensuring that all employee health and welfare enrollment elections are processed accurately in the company and vendor systems.
Communicates benefits information to new hires and assists employees with day-to-day benefits inquiries.
Manages timely and effective communication of benefits information to HR team, including new hires, open enrollment, and day to day routine communication.
Maintains plans, records, generate reports to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assures compliance with COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and Healthcare Reform.
Participates in the preparation and review of all employee benefit communications including maintaining up to date Summary Plan Descriptions.
Reviews benefit invoices to ensure accuracy, and prepares and compiles self-funded benefit invoices and audits for accuracy.
Manages annual external audit of the 401(k) and retirement plan.
Analyzes employee utilization of current benefits and develops specific recommendations for review by management.
Works with Hitachi Benefits Pool, vendors and plan carriers on status updates, issue reconciliation, and information sharing.
Leave of Absence Management oversight of outsourced third party.
Provides benefit administrative and professional support to the HR function.
Ensures compliance with ERISA and other legal requirements including but not limited to annual updates and communication of plan documents and summary plan descriptions. Assists in preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies
Responsible for reviewing and balancing monthly plan invoices.
Ensures that new and terminated employees are appropriately noted, corresponding payroll deductions are correct and that calculations are accurate.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Human Resources or Business Administration degree preferred
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) preferred
EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years benefits management experience required
- 5% travel
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PPT
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
- Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work with complex concepts and communicate these in a clear and concise manner
