What we need:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to spearhead our market research analysis as it relates to competing technologies and evolutions in the larger software risk management and compliance domain. This role will be given latitude to ensure that company leadership remains informed of market changes to ensure that technology and marketing strategies remain current. Full comprehension of existing market dynamics and customer demands are critical to this position.
What you will be doing:
Surveying the ever-changing Risk Management and Compliance landscape for emerging trends and solutions
Providing timely briefings for company leadership to educate them on perceived market progression
Document and monitor competitive products including capabilities, pricing, customers, acquisitions, funding, etc....
Provide insights to product management to validate feature roadmap is consistent with customer demand
Manage both ongoing and ad-hoc research projects based upon new market information or new areas of focus
Construct polls to determine interest in prospective features
Create frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights
Synthesizes findings into insights across projects, including implications that inform business decisions
Leverages insights to develop recommendations and seeks to provide thought leadership (e.g., trend identification, implications of competitor move) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for Microsoft
Cultivates strong partnerships and working relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements
Job requirements:
Degree in marketing, statistics, or math from an Accredited University, or equivalent market research experience
A curious problem solver who could bring big ideas to life.
Able to synthesize/analyze complex and diverse information developing and recommending strategies
Solid business acumen ensuring market insights are relevant and practical
Prior experience in market segmentation including sizing, pricing, competitive landscape, channel analysis and VOC (voice of customer)
Eager to learn and quickly apply current information and skills
Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and complex environments
Ability to toggle between strategic thinking and detail orientation
At least two years of market research experience
Basic knowledge of product management and marketing activities
Great verbal and written communication skills are necessary
