As a member of the Software and Systems Engineering Section within the Digital Transformation Solutions Group, you will help our clients determine what “right” looks like and guide small teams of developers and analysts on getting there. Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of the software development lifecycle, from initial requirement gathering to the deployment of both custom and commercial solutions.
You will be tasked with engaging directly with clients to deeply understand their needs and translate these into detailed project specifications. Your ability to manage these requirements throughout the project lifecycle is crucial, ensuring that they adapt to and reflect any changes in project dynamics or stakeholder feedback. You will also oversee the deployment of solutions, confirming that they align with client needs and project specifications.
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in handling comprehensive software development processes, demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, and have the ability to work closely with clients. Strong communication skills are essential, as building and maintaining relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders is key to our success.
This position is ideally located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but we are open to candidates near any HNTB office location.
What You'll Do:
Performs system analyses on software programs, applications, and web services.
Determines system efficiency and functionality by liaising with internal departments and end-users.
Reports to management and obtains approval for system development projects.
Develops software programs to improve business operations and customer satisfaction.
Analyzes and improves the performance of web-based customer portals and support services.
Ensures end-user proficiency with new systems, programs, and applications across departments.
Monitors product licenses and ensures compliance with IT industry regulations.
Ensures that computer hardware remains compatible with system enhancements and updates.
Promotes system efficiency and security by integrating performance metrics and encryption.
Implements new advancements in the field of system and enterprise architecture.
Provides technical expertise and guidance to the team and clients as needed.
Researches and evaluates hardware and software technology options and weighing the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company.
Leads and mentors junior technology business analysts.
Manages complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and vendors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and 5 years of relevant experience, or
In lieu of education, 10 years of relevant experience
What You'll Bring:
A passion for emerging technology
Experience in the infrastructure and/or public sector
Exceptional communication skills toward facilitating the use of new software systems.
Ability to facilitate user acceptance testing and end-user training.
Ability to design and maintain efficient customer portal support and feedback channels.
Ensuring optimal system functionality via integrated diagnostics.
Advanced knowledge of data security and encryption.
Ability to keep up with IT advancements.
Knowledge of programming languages like SQL and system integration solutions.
What We Prefer:
Experience using Agile methodologies
Business Analyst certification or scrum master
Experience working with geospatial applications
