HNTB's Design Build (DB) Organization is seeking an individual with an engineering or architecture background who is interested in a career in the realm of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC). This role serves as a foundational step in understanding and applying BIM and VDC technology leadership on design build projects. The Specialist will work under the guidance of senior staff learning and assisting in various aspects of project BIM and VDC processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in 3D model development, BIM software configuration, model coordination, and collaborative project workflows while working on mega and super mega design build projects.
The specialist will assist in key areas such as the development of 3D design models, supporting the administration of Projectwise/Autodesk Construction Cloud project sites, configuring BIM software, creating BIM content libraries, and participating in clash detection and quality control processes. They will contribute to the development of project BIM Execution Plans and documentation, offering insights and support in research for best practices in project modeling. Additionally, the Specialist will have a crucial role in supporting BIM software usage, addressing basic technical issues, upskilling project staff, and enhancing their problem-solving skills.
What You’ll Do:
Serves as a project team leader, implementing and promoting BIM quality and execution.
Assists in the development of best practices and project team workflows.
Reviews design 3D models and project data for quality, organization, and performance.
Assists in administration of BIM 360 project site and associated services (BIM 360 Docs, Design, Model Coordination, Field, etc.)
Assists in the facilitation of clash detection, QA/QC, and auditing design models across varied model authoring software.
Assists in the development and maintenance of project BIM Execution Plan documents.
Participates in regular multi-disciplinary project BIM meetings.
Investigates and inform best practices for large teams and large project modeling, documentation, file sharing, and QA/QC.
Assists in the development, implementation, and enforcement of BIM and design technology standards, including content libraries and templates.
Assists in the technical documentation of existing, new, and alternative workflows and modeling techniques.
Serves as first line of support for general Revit/BIM software production issues and basic troubleshooting.
Promotes knowledge and development of project team members through day-to-day support and interactions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or relevant degree
2 years of architectural design or production

What We Prefer:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
3 years of engineering design or production
Experience using Bentley Projectwise and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud for file collaboration.
Skilled in the use of one or more of the following: Civil 3D, Revit, InfraWorks, Navisworks, Rhino, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, Open Bridge Designer
