This opportunity entails providing technical and operational support for client services relating to all aspects of transit/rail/port/aviation security in support of the Senior Technical Advisor of Safety & Security.
The successful candidate will: support the development of end-to-end Security Program in accordance with DHS/TSA, FTA and FRA guidelines, rules and regulations; support the development of recommendations on security risk analysis for client facilities including criticality, threat and vulnerability assessment using approved DHS risk tools and HNTB risk models; support the development of credible design basis threats and conceptual mitigations; support the development of security needs analysis and gap assessment support and provide to project teams; Support the development of conceptual security improvements to meet client needs and close those gaps including the preparation of Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Operations Requirements Documents (ORD), Operational Checklists and Consequence Management Plans.
What You’ll Do:
Researches and collects raw data, organizes, analyzes and provides review of the data for use in projects and for further analysis.
Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software.
Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning. Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects
Performs tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.
Assists in stakeholder and public participation process.
Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field
What You’ll Bring:
Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite.
Compiles and summarizes data with direction from more experienced staff.
Reviews, prepares, and summarizes relevant research for more experienced staff to review.
Contributes to reports and assists in material preparation for presentations with direction from more experienced staff.
What We Prefer:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in security-related field

The approximate pay range for New York is $56,501.27 - $105,939.89. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
