What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Site Security Officer position at Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison?
Ho-Chunk Nation is a 24-hour casino offering slot machines, an on-site restaurant and bar. We are currently seeking a Security Officer full or part time. They will be responsible for using corporate protocol to greet facility guests, requesting and accepting identification from all guests to ensure compliance with the legal age for gaming, ensuring safe transportation of casino's monies, gaming tickets and cash equivalents; monitoring the interior and exterior of the facility. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in Security, Customer Service and a professional disposition.
Security Guard Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Past experience in the security or customer service fields.
- Must possess strong group communication skills.
- Pre-employment and random drug testing is required.
Security Guard is responsible for:
- Making continuous observations at assigned posts and while on patrol and reports any situation that could cause injury or loss to patrons, employees, or the Ho-Chunk Nation or that might reveal a weakness or vulnerability that is discovered in the course of patrol.
- Ensuring full compliance with facility’s Internal Control Manual, Tribal regulations and policies, standard operating procedures and Minimum Internal Control Standards.
- Responding to emergencies and critical situations in accordance with company policy (e.g., medicals, chemical spills, fire evacuations, severe weather) and provide emergency services as authorized.
- Generating necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving guests, team members, property and assets.
- Ensuring safe transportation of casino's monies, gaming tokens, and cash equivalents; assist in the opening and closing of the gaming tables and points of sale when applicable.
- Checking all persons for proper authorization to facilities and for contraband and unauthorized items.
- Monitoring PC based monitoring systems and electronic equipment (e.g. security access control system, environmental management and control systems, burglar and fire alarm systems) and provide prompt notification to appropriate personnel to resolve any problems that may arise.
- Promoting positive public and employee relations by maintaining a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Requesting and accepting identification from all guests to ensure compliance with the legal age for gaming based on state and federal gaming regulations.
- The ability to acquire a working knowledge of security procedures, investigative procedures and techniques and systems including alarm, access control and identification systems.
- The ability to remain calm and solve practical problems under stressful situations and use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems and apply as suitable.
