What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Analyst / HPM position at Hoar?

The GIS Analyst position will support all planning related services through GIS data management and analysis. In this role, you may be required to travel up to 25-50% of the time

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and analyze data to create reports and presentations that support multiple planning activities that may include: facility master planning, boundary/zoning analysis, population/census analysis, site selection, student potential/build-out analysis.
  • Responsible for managing GIS tech support or outside GIS vendor support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree Geography [GIS Specialty] or Bachelor’s Degree GIS Certification preferred 
  • 5-10 Years’ GIS Experience
  • Experience in K-12 education, Higher Ed, Manufacturing/Distribution, Transportation/Logistics, Entertainment/Hospitality, or related industries
  • Experience in management of GIS team 
  • Proficient in ESRI and Microsoft products 
  • Clear communication skills in all formats (written, spoken, social media, public presentations, etc.) on behalf of HPM

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight 50 lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
