Painter

Hodges Development Corporation is seeking a Painter to join our team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
• Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
• Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
• Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.
• Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
• Performs basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces.
• May apply wallpaper, specialty finishes, and glazes.
• Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
• Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Completes snow removal tasks such as shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed during winter months.
• Operates snowblower or snowplow to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.

Education and Experience:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to maintain possession of a DOT Medical Card
• Must pass a motor vehicle records review initially as well as annually. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
• Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to distinguish among colors.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to drive at night in case of emergencies or on-call requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• Are you comfortable performing snow removal functions seasonally? This includes coming in before, during, and after winter storms for cleanup.
• Are you comfortable participating in our rotating on-call schedule? All maintenance employees are required to be on call for one week at a time every three months, approximately.
