What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Coordinator position at HOFFMAN HOMES for Youth?
The role of the Intake Coordinator is to support the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic (OP) with delivering effective services to community consumers. Their primary responsibility includes managing referrals, creating and managing the OP schedule, greeting clients as they come in for appointments, assisting with billing processes and completing initial assessments. The Intake Coordinator works in consultation with the Mental Health Professionals (MHPs), and under the direction of, the Director of the Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic.Duties Include:
- Managing Referrals from the community for OP services. This includes reviewing referrals for appropriateness of services.
- Scheduling Intake and therapy appointments.
- Completing authorizations and non-par agreements with insurance companies, notifying clients of co-pays or denial of coverage.
- Complete and file intake forms as required by The Joint Commission and OMHSAS.
- Act as a liaison to the community by referring them to services that are more appropriate to meet their needs.
- Organizing and providing files and documentation as needed for regulatory compliance and licensing.
- Assist with the facilitation of any group sessions.
Requires:
- Bachelor's degree in a counseling-related field.
- 2 to 3 years of experience within the mental health field.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of principles and methods of various assessments.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to attend to issues without prompting.
- Proficient office skills to include efficient typing and computer skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
