Position Summary:
The IT Specialist provided support to ensure the operations of the IT Department and Hogue Team run both effective and efficient. The responsibilities of the position include a variety of administrative tasks such as vendor coordination, inventory control, quality support, and IT project management. This technical position is also responsible for managing the day-to-day organization of the IT Department.
The candidate must possess a continuous improvement mindset and assist with projects requiring strong attention to detail and organization. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of professionalism, the ability to work independently and within a team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and flexibility to meet the changing needs of the department. This person will work directly with a variety of IT roles and will frequently collaborate with the management team, other departments within the company, and external partners.
The IT Specialist will have daily, hands-on involvement with our Windows servers, PCs, LAN, and WAN. Duties will include administration, support, and participation in numerous infrastructure upgrade projects. The IT Specialist will play an important role in all of these duties. The IT Specialist plays a key role on the Hogue Team as a support resource for various software applications, including our ERP, CRM, e-commerce, and CAD/CAM systems.
Hogue has four business locations, including our largest manufacturing site in Paso Robles, CA. The IT Specialist will be responsible for supporting users at our remote locations (all West Coast), and will occasionally be required to travel to these locations to deal with IT projects and issues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, communications, hardware, or software.
· Respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problem, and determine and implement solution
· Ensures established stock levels of IT equipment are maintained.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Manage annual renewals for items such as software subscriptions and hardware maintenance.
- Maintain data related to IT systems that require manual upkeep.
· Various data collection/analysis/reporting activities
- Must be able to travel within to all Hogue facility’s (San Diego, CA and Henderson, NV ).
· Phone system administration
· SQL Server administration
· Business application support (learned over time)
Education / Experience / Training:
· Advanced user of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and Outlook preferred.
· Experience creating Visio diagrams and Project plans a plus.
· Strong ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organization and attention to detail.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Experience with Cisco networking equipment, SQL Server, on-premise ERP systems, Linux, and/or Magento.
· Deep knowledge of Windows server and PC operating systems.
· Information security– Familiarity with information security practices and procedures to protect company data from intrusion or corruption
