Job Purpose
Atira Hotels is seeking a dedicated Sales Coordinator. The purpose of the Sales Coordinator is to increase room revenue by increasing the production of existing special, corporate/travel agent/consortia accounts and groups in conjunction with the Sales Manager(s).
Part-time. Hourly paid position. Opportunity for advancement in hotel sales and events.
You are helpful and organized by nature, and you want to learn everything there is to know about sales. As a Sales Coordinator, you would be well positioned to learn the ins and outs of sales while supporting the Director of Sales.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to relate well to many people.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently and solve problems exercise good judgment and discretion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in computer systems, the internet, and social media.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deal with stressful situations.
- Team player with positive behavior and passion for the hospitality industry.
- Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Prior experience in the hotel industry is a plus but not a requirement.
- Help the department stay on track to reach targets by inputting data and maintaining spreadsheets to generate reports.
- Welcome callers and visitors graciously in a professional manner and handle requests promptly.
- Input rooming list, set up group master accounts, group routing, review group pick-up reports to monitor cut-off dates, and follow up with clients to ensure they are aware of the date.
- Execute commission requests
- The input of individual BT reservation requests. Create group resumes and Banquet Event Orders.
- Internet prospecting.
- Create customized flyers for hotel promotions.
Fundamentals
A high school degree or equivalent education is required, with a college degree helpful. Clear, effective verbal and written English communication skills are essential. This position requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to operate a telephone and computer and use various software is expected, with Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge helpful. A general understanding of sales operations is also useful.
