Job Summary
The Field Engineer is responsible to help facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management and communication through effective day-to-day administration and coordination of projects. Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members in support of the success of a project. Maintain specific, organized, and detailed project records which thoroughly document and track each project.
Responsibilities and Duties
Typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review drawings, submittals, shop drawings
- Distribute new or updated drawings and specifications
- Maintain Quality Assurance and Control tracking mechanisms & checklists
- Maintain testing & inspection logs
- Produce RFIs
- Field measurements
- Assist the Superintendent & Project Manager to maintain project schedule file & distribute as necessary
- Subcontractor Meeting (SCM) documentation
- Thoroughly photograph the progress of construction
- Produce sketches as required
- As-builts
- Redlines
- Fill out Incident Reports as required
- Field Change Cost and T&M Tracking
- Support Project Coordinator on Closeout Matrix
- Support Preconstruction team as necessary
- Create or assist in the creation of the Pre-Punchlist
- Document Pre-& Final Punchlist
- Scope Change Implementation
- Set up & maintain field office
- Maintain field office drawings & documents
- Project Start-Up Sheets
- Process Field Observation Forms
- AHJ Coordination
- Long Lead Items & Activities Log tracking
- MEP Field Coordination
- Drawing/Constructability Reviews
Required Skills

Preferred Experience/Certifications and Licenses
- Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. Two-year construction related degree or trade certification, and/or equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Commercial, multi-family/mixed-use or hospitality, industrial/manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must have valid driver's license; good driving record required.
