Responsibilities:
- Applies knowledge of federal, state and Company rules and regulations to manage the division’s logistics activities and operations.
- Manages projects related to operational planning and seasonal preparation. Continually reviews current processes for efficiency.
- Oversees allocation preparation, daily dispatches along with Dock Representative and Operations Supervisor daily duties.
- Coordinates with other local management to ensure compliance items are met.
- Serves as conduit and resource for customer service-related applications.
- Ensures policies and procedures are standardized and followed consistently.
- Coordinates communication with vendors and cruise lines related to tour details with assistance of the Division Manager.
- Prepares reports and analysis.
- Measures division’s performance against established goals and objectives.
- Assists with budget preparation, management, and presentation.
- Actively participates in recruitment, interviewing & hiring for all seasonal positions along with any directly assigned personnel.
- Responsible for the employment, supervision, performance management, salary administration, coaching, and training of directly assigned personnel.
- This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in transportation services operations equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- This job normally requires four years of progressively responsible positions in transportation services and operations.
- Current or the ability to obtain valid Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.

- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
- Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized reservations systems, Tour Star and Excel is preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to detail while working both an independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, management and customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) certification is preferred. (This license may be obtained through Company sponsored class.)
- Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple divisions, departments, management, guests, and staff.
