Overview

Salary Range: $24.00-$26.00 per hour.

 

The Field Intern is responsible for supporting the project team with various tasks during the design and construction of projects in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Assist superintendent with project documentation such as: RFI’s, safety reports, daily logs, man-power counts, punch lists, QA/QC check lists,
  • Assist superintendent monitoring subcontractor progress and reporting of same.
  • Assist the project team with traffic control, safety and schedule related activities.
  • Assist or lead the punch-list process and work with the owner to achieve unit and project turn-over.
  • Review construction and shop drawings for buildability, errors, or other details related to construction and keep a detailed log.
  • Assist or manage construction and close-out on assigned projects with the goal of ensuring that budget, schedule and customer satisfaction goals are met, including obtaining warranties and O&M manuals.
  • Initiate and/or participate in subcontractor and supplier contact.
  • Assist in preparation of job schedules.
  • Review drawings, schedules and other project related matters with jobsite superintendent.
  • Work with governmental agencies to aid project success or resolve job problems.
  • Share job responsibility through monitoring project QA/QC and schedules resolving problems and writing RFI’s and other required documents.
  • Work to optimize team effectiveness and helps coordinate project team.
  • Confer with supervisor in reviewing schedules, cost and sales decisions when necessary.
  • Initiate meetings to keep supervisor informed of project status and progress.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
  • Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
  • Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. A college degree in related coursework preferred.

 

Experience: Construction related experience is strongly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a complex and fast-paced operating environment.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starting and driven.
  • Ability to solve problems and use available resources.
  • Demonstrate and display honesty, integrity, and personal accountability.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team atmosphere.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required with knowledge or ability to learn Procore, Phoenix scheduling software, Bluebeam, etc.

Attendance: This full-time position requires regular and punctual attendance compliant with the schedule set to meet company needs. Additional hours or overtime may be required. 

 

Working Environment: This position takes place in a construction environment that involves hazardous work conditions requiring protective equipment and training that conforms to OSHA and applicable State Agency regulations. Some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, and noise may occur.

 

This position also requires:

  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
