We are looking for a new 1st Shift Manager to oversee all production activities in our sequencing operations. The Manager ensures safe and productive operation, leads continuous improvement using 5S, and maintains a positive work environment.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily activities and ensure the productivity of the warehouse during assigned shift.Develop and maintain a successful team.Prioritize safety, 5S and alignment with standard policies and procedures.Actively work to improve efficiency and meet or exceed customer's productivity and quality goals.Proactively identify and resolve issues.Create and communicate necessary reports.Assist in the development and assure an overall strategy/plan for the Production department to achieve overall plant KPI targets.Assure adherence to all Safety and Quality programs.Help with training programs for all production personnel.Be a strong leader and team builder.Remain actively involved with team members on the floor to provide guidance.Lead or assist with continuous improvement activities.Support HR regarding attendance, staffing management, team member relations and employee interviews/reviews.Other duties as assigned
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS3 – 5 years in manufacturing5 years of managementStrong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listeningStrong conflict resolution and coordination skillsSkilled and enjoys leading hourly workers Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to proficiently operate a computer, specifically Microsoft Office suite and SAPAbility to effectively work with both customers, suppliers, and internal partnersStrong understanding of production flow processAutomotive just-in-time sequencing experience preferredIndustry experience – preferably automotiveExperience required - responsible for multiple lines. Proficiency in MS Office products required.Some IT experience.
