What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Installation Project Manager position at Hologic?
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with Account Executive, and FEs, informs customer that he/she is the sole point of contact throughout the pre-install phase and physical installation phase
- Sets up calls and attends customer meetings to ensure an effortless experience for the customer
- Reviews site-planning information with customer. Ensures information has been provided and approved by customer. Works closely with FE to obtain accurate information to prepare for install. Notifies Sales (Account Executives) and Service manager that plans are complete, and coordinates walk through with FE and customer. If possible, walk through with FE and customer onsite to prep for site planning.
- Responsible to confirm customer applications for all product lines
- Maintain applications scheduling system for clarity and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze options and offer alternative scheduling solutions with customers to not only benefit and accommodate the customer’s needs but the company’s best interest as well.
- Contacts IT/Connectivity and coordinates a meeting/conf call with customer to ensure IT requirements are met upon equipment delivery.
- Validates customer requested ship and delivery dates with install team members.
- Validates site readiness and communicates any schedule changes immediately to minimize impact to manufacturing and revenue recognition back to Account Executive and Sales Admin for action on outstanding items.
- Provides weekly reports/schedules (dates, status changes, demographic info etc.)
- Oversees installation and calls in appropriate resources if there are problems/delays. Notifies all parties.
- Provides multiple sources of information to the customer
- Review existing Hologic equipment configuration/s prior to delivery of new equipment to ensure compatibility…i.e. hardware, software, connectivity. Procedure step to be performed by territory CS.
Qualifications:
- Ability to establish, schedule, track and communicate all activities related to the installation of digital mammography imaging products. This includes pre-installation planning and equipment layout, site readiness, equipment delivery, and coordination and communication of FE, Connectivity, and Applications activities. Must be detail oriented and very organized.
- Must be able to travel within assigned territory as needed to meet with customers, contractors, and Hologic service personnel. Minimum travel expectation is 30%.
- Technical aptitude and fundamental knowledge of mammography and digital mammography in particular desired. Prior field service experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Education:
Associate Degree in a technical discipline. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent blend of education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
2 to 5 years’ experience in medical capital equipment site planning and installation coordination.
Specialized Knowledge:
Architecture as it applies to site planning in capital equipment installation environment. Basic knowledge of standard drafting methods and practices. Fundamental knowledge of electrical requirements and networking terminology.
Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to deal with customer issues of critical importance, in a sensitive but effective manner. Able to work with a minimum of supervision, able to prioritize and execute complex scheduling tasks in a multi-tasking, interrupt driven environment. Ability to interpret architectural/construction drawings this includes: general construction, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, communications/networking. Ability to schedule, track, and communicate multiple concurrent activities at multiple customer facilities.
