Job Posting for Stevedore Team Member at Holt Logistics

Stevedore team members are involved in loading and unloading of cargo ships.  As a member of our team you will be responsible for handling customer's products in a safe and efficient manner and perform the essential job functions.  Assignments could also be inside the warehouse based on the companies manpower needs.

Minimum Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be able to work a fluctuating, non-traditional schedule
  • Have a strong work ethic and the ability to follow instructions within a team environment

Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Set up equipment used to load/unload cargo to/from ship
  • Guiding cargo between ship and dock
  • Hooking and unhooking chains/hooks/slings after cargo is placed on the dock
  • Preparing for the stacking of materials being offloaded on the ship

Preferred, but not necessary company will train
  • Forklift
  • Crane
  • Slingman
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Work Conditions
This position is outside in all weather.  Length of day can extend to 15 hours.  Our operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Union
Stevedore Team Member is a union position. Initiation fee and union dues are required as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
