Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking a Buyer to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Support the Supply Chain function at the Palisades Nuclear Generating Plant. Coordinates and directs the day-to-day purchasing, expediting, and associated material acquisition, service contracts and replenishment activities. Duties may also include planning, development, and implementation of a variety of supply chain projects related to purchasing, inventory control and supply chain management. Plans and conducts plant purchasing activities exercising sound judgment in compliance with established techniques, applicable procedures, and criteria. Devise and implement innovative approaches to Supply Chain purchasing/inventory management issues. Provide technical guidance to other buyers, supply chain staff and internal customers. Provides support for process improvement initiatives. Interface with peers within Holtec. Provide logistics support as needed. Independently performs assignments and duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management (preferred), or an associate degree in a related field of industrial purchasing practices.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Knowledge of commercial and nuclear purchasing practices, MRO (maintenance, repair and operating) suppliers and manufacturers, knowledge of inventory management strategies and techniques, knowledge of logistics and expediting processes, basic understanding of plant equipment, material resource planning, and quality assurance is strongly preferred. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Computer literacy: Experience with materials management software, preferably Asset Suite, and basic computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills are required.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:
Master Buyer certification is preferred.
