This position is for a candidate who has the desire to secure a challenging but varied and interesting role in a fast-paced environment at a growing company. Projects include decommissioning projects as well as other areas of operations.
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, the Contracts Manager will be an integral part of the Procurement team. You will be a key contributor to provide support on projects, implementation of supply chain strategies, change management and daily support of clients that allows them to reach their business goals.
Support the Procurement Director in day-to-day operations and management of Procurement team for placement of subcontracts for services, equipment rentals and field services and placement of material purchase orders. Must be adept in interfacing with project teams and subcontractors. Will interface with Finance, Legal, HR and Project teams to ensure resolution on contractual issues and ensure a positive outcome. Must be effective in application of company risk and liability profile and can tailor contract approach based on scope of work and specific risks as well as the following:

Must be effective in application of company risk and liability profile and can tailor contract approach based on scope of work and specific risks as well as the following:
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for supply of equipment and services.
- Prepare issue and evaluate requests for quotation/proposal and invitations to bid.
- Perform informal solicitation of price and availability for services and/or commodities.
- Write and issue purchase order contracts.
- Assist with other duties associated with procurement activities including review of invoices.
- Provide contract change order support to the project delivery teams to prepare and negotiate change orders or claims as required.
- Negotiate supplier terms and conditions.
- Perform additional assignments per Supervisor's direction.
EDUCATION, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The Contracts Manager must be able to work independently and collaboratively as needed and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.
- B.S. Degree in Economics, Engineering or business administration or other related field.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in purchasing services/products and negotiating applicable contracts/purchase orders is required.
- Demonstrated strong math skills and analytical capabilities.
- Desired: Previous experience in nuclear and/or power industry is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of purchasing techniques, procedures and policies is required.
- Must be a self-starter, detailed oriented and be a team player to support the procurement function.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy (preferably audit, due diligence, or similar background)
- Proven track record of modeling and analytical experience
- Experience with larger contracts is desired.
- PC skills in word processing, data input and spreadsheets are required.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
- Proven problem solver, and strong customer service skills.
- Contract interpretation skills are required.
- Capability of working with sensitive and confidential information
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
