What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operating Room Clinical Assistant - FT Endoscopy position at Holy Cross Hospital?
Job Summary:
- Candidate will transport patients to the OR AND Endoscopy, Assists Nurse in moving and positioning patients on the OR table; if needed deliver surgical and lab specimens to appropriate areas; maintain the supply area; clean rooms between each case; assists staff with cleaning of instruments plus other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates efficiency in the safe transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
- Assists circulating nurse in moving and positioning patients on the OR table.
- Assists with prepping patients and many times deals with blood/feces/urine/body parts.
- Delivers surgical and laboratory specimens to appropriate areas and transports blood products as required to and from blood bank.
- Maintains the supply areas so that all products are available to OR personnel.
- Demonstrates proper technique when cleaning operating rooms between each case.
- Demonstrates proper handling, cleaning, and storage of equipment and supplies. Maintains a neat and orderly environment in the main OR, supply rooms, utilities room and pre and post-operative areas.
- Assists OR staff with cleaning of instruments and equipment between surgical procedures.
- Helps with prepping patients and many times deal with blood/feces/urine/body parts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
BLS through AHA required
Previous Operating Room, Endoscopy, Environmental or Transportation experience preferred
