Nursing Educator - Critical Care

Our Education team is seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse to become our Critical Care Nurse Educator. Individual will become a member of an educational team that collaborates on all of the Health System’s educational initiatives. The primary focus will be in the Intensive Care and Intermediate Care (IMC) units. This educator will be responsible for leading and mentoring members within the ICU and IMC’s multidisciplinary team. They will act as the Critical Care nurse expert and provide education and training to nurses within the departments. They should be prepared to keep up on Evidence Based Medicine and Practices in order to continue to provide the highest quality care to critically ill patients.

This educator is expected to maintain education and clinical nurse resource services to critical care specialty services and units; to follow and direct critical care orientation, ongoing education, staff development and competency assessment; to provide resource services to the critical care management and staff, including assistance with policies and procedures, performance improvement initiatives, peer review activities, product education and evaluation, and interdisciplinary patient care processes/rounds.

The Critical Care Nurse Educator will report directly to the Director of the Center for Learning and Organizational Development and collaborate with the Director of Inpatient Services to set departmental goals and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS: Current Mass license as a Registered Nurse and BSN required. MSN or advanced Clinical Practice License preferred. Five years medical/surgical and critical care nursing required. CCRN highly encouraged.; previous ICU Intensive Care Unit/ Critical Care RN nursing experience and a firm understanding of practices, evaluations and diagnoses of critical cases such as sepsis, heart failure, and stroke among others
