GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The primary responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Analysts II are to:

Oversee the ongoing development, operations and standardization of enterprise data warehouse and operational data store.

Collaborate with departments to identify and scope the business opportunity, to understand, document and analyze business requirements, identify effective reporting techniques, the best data sources, risks and constraints, and desired reporting formats that drive the development and design of BI solution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collaborate with database administrators on the ongoing operations and standardization of enterprise data warehouse and operational data store. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  2. Manage administration, configuration, monitoring, performance, maintenance and usability of BI systems. This duty is performed weekly, about 30% of the time.

  3. Maintains and manages metadata, reporting, analytics, dashboards, report definitions, data extracts, etc. Designs, codes, tests and document all new or existing BI solutions. Writing complex queries, views and stored procedures. This duty is performed weekly, about 30% of the time.

  4. Solve complex data issue using data analyst skills to determine root cause problem for data integrity and data quality issues. This duty is performed weekly, about 30% of the time.

  5. Collaborate with departments and analysts to identify and scope the business opportunity, to understand, document and analyze business requirements, identify effective reporting techniques, the best data sources, risks and constraints, and desired reporting formats that drive the development and design of BI solution. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.

  6. Maintain a strong understanding of business workflow, processes, and events and how these are captured in transactional systems. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  7. Provide guidance and technical support to departments regarding in data analytics, business measures, and reporting. This duty is performed weekly, about 20% of the time.

  8. Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

  9. Communicates plans, progress, and issues to management in a timely manner. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

  10. Analyze, estimate, and fulfill requests for BI solutions. This duty is performed daily, about 60% of the time.

  11. Lead or participate as a team member on organization projects. This duty is performed as needed, about 15% of the time.

  12. Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate initiative timelines. This duty is performed as needed, about 15% of the time.

  13. Maintain knowledge of current and future techniques and technologies through research, training labs, reading, conferences and experimentation with new technologies in the workplace. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  14. Back-up other members of the team as required. This duty is performed monthly, about 8% of the time.

  15. Provide guidance and mentorship to level I Business Intelligence Analysts. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  16. Conducts and approves code review for Business Intelligence Analysts. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.

  17. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

  18. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

  19. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Advanced level of executing, implementing and supporting BI solutions based upon business requirement, content knowledge and multiple data source types.
