Home Instead is looking for compassionate individuals who want to become a part of our team and join in our mission of enhancing the lives of seniors. Our team of CAREGivers assist seniors in our community with a variety of services and help them remain independent in their familiar surroundings.
Essential Job Requirements
- No previous experience necessary - skills training provided by Home Instead*
- Provide Companionship, Home Helper Services and Personal Care which could include:
- Companionship and conversation
- Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
- Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
- Providing medication reminders and appointment reminders
- Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
- Washing and ironing laundry
- Running errands
- Accompanying clients to appointments
- Assisting with bathing, grooming and dressing
- Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues
- Alzheimer’s Care
Essential Job Requirements
- Ability to speak and hear English clearly in person and on the telephone
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
- Ability to consistently provide physical assistance to a client (i.e. stand-by assistance while walking, assist client with transfers)
- Complete a satisfactory criminal background check, DMV check, pre-employment drug screen
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with valid auto insurance
- Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
- Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
- Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
