The picker/packer job is in a refrigerated environment, picking and packing meals for the shipments. The packer will be assigned to a specific area, retrieve the items needed for packing the orders, check that they are in good condition, and pack the orders following pick sheets. The Picker/Packer works in an assembly line set up and uses several tools to pack the orders.

Picker/Packer duties and responsibilities
*
The picker/packager picks meals according to an order sheet or picklist and helps keep the assembly line running smoothly. Some of the key duties and responsibilities include:

• Retrieve the product to be packed

• Identify the orders to be shipped

• Ensure that his/her station is set up accordingly for the picking/packing process

• Pick and Pack meals according to the pick sheet

• Store prepared meals according to the fulfillment needs

• Maintain a clean and safe place and follow hygiene and food safety standards and regulations

Required education*

Highschool Diploma or equivalent.

Required experience and skills
*
The picker/packer needs to be very detail oriented and able to focus on specific tasks while working on the assembly line. The picker/packer needs a strong set of skills that ensure teamwork and organization in the line. Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Experience in handling food and packing it

• Excellent skills and ability to work as part of a team

• Strong organization and active reading and listening skills

• The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 40 pounds at a time

• Exceptional time management skills

• Detail Oriented

• Read and translate picking sheet into delicious boxes filled with meals

Knowledge of technical applications
The Picker Packer is required to have a good understanding of various templates of packing and preparation sheets in order to perform the job up to standards.

Compensation $13-$15 p/h

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
