Job Summary
Under the direction of the Retail Market Leader, the Small Business Development Banker develops relationships with small business and consumer clients through outbound calling efforts and working cross-functionally within the assigned HTB branch network. Incumbent is responsible for understanding client objectives, identifying needs, and making appropriate recommendations, consistent with compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Proactively establishes, develops, and maintains close banking relationships with clients, and supports their unique needs through a consultative sales approach and direct connection to bank partners.
  • Works collaboratively with other internal lines of business including Commercial Bankers, Business Bankers, Treasury Services, SBA, Equipment Finance, and Investment Services to identify opportunities and provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Develops and executes sales plans, regular calling programs, and analyzes customer and market needs to meet annual sales and business development goals.
  • Represent the Bank in the community for the purpose of generating additional business and identifying potential CRA opportunities for the Bank.
  • Serves the personal banking needs of clients.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable bank, broker/dealer, State and Federal regulations associated with the sale of investment and insurance products.
  • Maintain required professional training and license requirements, including knowledge of FINRA compliance, FDIC compliance, the Bank's uninsured Products Policy Statement and all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Job Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or multi-year experience in related activity.

Required:

  • Proven sales track record.
  • S.A.F.E registration at time of employment. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) can provide information about the requirements for registration.
  • Skilled professional networker and relationship builder, and effective at targeted prospecting and full lifecycle of sales and service.
  • Knowledge of loan and deposit processing functions and related requirements and procedures.
  • Effective at establishing, growing, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with all Federal and State banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act.
  • Fluency with PC and web-based software and systems.
  • Must be comfortable with e-banking platform.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred:

  • 5 years of related sales experience and/or financial services experience.
